It all starts when an idea pops into your head.
You’re sitting at home with nothing to do, staring at the walls. You’re feeling extremely bored and you wonder, if there is something, anything that you could do. You close your eyes and think. And then that’s when it hits you. An idea. You remember something you saw long ago, and you rush to your desk, computer in hand. You open up your browser and search up the term. When you find something, a slight smile curls across your face and you explore deeper.
In no time, your screen is full of tabs and your scrolling through all of them, taking notes on everything you can find. And suddenly, minutes of researching become hours of researching, and those hours turn into days. The topic becomes your obsession. Anytime anybody looks at you, you’re working on that single thing, taking more and more notes, and turning your findings into something you can share with the world. Along the way, you face difficulties. There are times when you think you’re done with a subtopic, but then, when you’re looking over it, you realise you missed something big, and you need to do hours more research to fill it in. There are times when you need to find the answer to something, but when you search it up, you can’t find anything useful. And there are times when you get so fed up with your research that you just want to pull your hair out and throw your computer across the room. But you keep and keep on working.
Then there comes the point where you think you’re almost done, just a few more metres to run, you realise that your information is more scattered than you thought it was. You realise that you’ll need more content in order to complete the feat. And you realise that there was no, no way you were going to be able to get through it alone. You lose hope and bury your head in your hands thinking that there was nothing you could do now. You’re just about to delete your work when you feel a hand on your shoulder. You look up and see someone who was willing to help. They took your information and started to file through it, organizing it in a manner you weren’t able to do. You begin to fill up with hope again, and the haze that had been blocking your path, cleared away. Together, you faced many more difficulties, but hand in hand, you persevered through it. It took even more time than the original research had taken, but in the end, it was all worth it.
Finally, finally, after months, you’ve done it. You’ve compiled everything you’ve learnt into something you can share with everyone.
When you achieve something that you’ve worked hard on for a very long time, the feeling is exhilarating. It’s like taking a deep breath of fresh air in a very long time. It’s like a burden has been lifted off your heart, and you feel that you are finally free. Your accomplishment is the wind beneath your wings, and within moments, you are flying.
Tomorrow, for my 50th post, I have a very special announcement to make. It’s an accomplishment I’ve worked very hard towards, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my family, especially my sister. Stay posted, and I hope this little story has inspired you to work towards your accomplishment, whatever that might be, and feel the happiness of looking back at the journey, from that small idea, all the way to the fruits of your labour.
Beautiful writeup! Really inspiring 🙂
It’s inspiring and you know best how to put a thought into string of words …
