On Sunday, September 29th, 2024 I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer with the Central York Leadership Group at MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy’s 3rd Community BBQ. The atmosphere was lively with a variety of booths and much networking!
The event had a great turnout of around 500 people, and I made some invaluable connections with community leaders. I had the chance to connect with Premier Doug Ford, pictured in the thumbnail.
I also met with MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy, to whom I gave a tour of Newmarket High School a few years ago!
Finally, I discussed opportunities for youth growth and leadership with Deputy Mayor Tom Vegh and Jacob Gal, the Director of Operations at York Pride!
The Central York Leadership Group (CYLG), a non-profit organization founded by Newmarket Ward 1 Councillor Grace Simon, is committed to encouraging youth to take on a civic role in their community. As the Co-President of the CYLG, I found this volunteer experience incredibly fruitful and I am excited to invite more young potential to our group!
